Who we are

BoomSched is an independent, unofficial festival companion app — currently covering Boomtown, Reading Festival and Leeds Festival 2026 — made by Ben Lewis. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any of those festivals. For anything in this policy, email [email protected].

There are no accounts

You never sign up, and we never ask for your email, phone number or real name. When you first open BoomSched it generates a random ID on your device. That ID is the only identity the app has for you, and deleting the app (or clearing this site's browser data) destroys it.

What stays on your device

Your starred sets, ratings, crews, day plans and the display name you choose are stored on your phone (or in your browser, on the website). Sharing by QR code carries your picks inside the code itself, phone to phone — nothing about a QR swap touches a server.

Crew sync

When you create or join a crew, your crew row — display name, starred set IDs, ratings, crew code and name, your random ID, and a timestamp — is uploaded to our sync backend (hosted on Supabase) so your crew mates' apps can stay up to date. Anyone who has your crew code can read that crew's rows; share the code only with people you want in the crew.

Leaving a crew removes it from your device. To have your rows deleted from the sync backend too, email us with your crew code and display name and we'll remove them.

Usage analytics

The apps send anonymous usage events to PostHog (hosted in the EU): things like "a set was starred" or "a crew was created", the screens you visit, your random ID, and the display name you set. This tells us which features are worth keeping. No advertising IDs, no location, and nothing is shared with advertisers or data brokers.

Crash reporting and session replay

The apps send crash reports and error diagnostics to Sentry (processed in the US): what went wrong, device model and OS version, and your random ID — not your IP address or name. A sample of sessions is recorded as a "replay" to help debug problems. Replays show the lineup and the buttons you tapped; your name, your mates' names, crew names and codes, share links and QR codes are masked before the replay leaves the device.

What we never do

No ads. No selling or renting data. No tracking you across other apps or websites. No location collection. No contact-list access. The camera is used only to scan crew QR codes — scanning happens entirely on your device, no photo is taken and nothing from the camera is uploaded. Morning reminders are scheduled locally on your phone; there is no push-notification server.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask what we hold about you and ask for it to be deleted. Because there are no accounts, include your crew code and display name so we can find your rows. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within a month.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be called out in the app's release notes.
